Winter sports update: week of January 30th

Men’s Basketball – The Minuteman traveled to Barberton on Friday to face the Magics in a game they won 62-49. On Friday, the team will travel to Highland to face off against the Hornets in hopes of defending a Suburban League leading 12-3 record.

 

Women’s Basketball – The team stayed homec on the 25th to play in their Senior Night game and lost 47-44. On Saturday, the team traveled to Barberton and won 48-22.  The team stayed home on Monday to face Rootown, they won 53-32. On February 4th, the team will travel to Highland.

 

Wrestling –  Over the weekend, the team traveled to the Suburban League Tournament at Highland High School, and finished 11th out of 15 teams. Top performers included Aidan Jones at 5th for 144, Sal Bonacuse at 7th for 120, and Brandon Brinker at 7th for 126. The team will travel to Stow on Saturday to face off against the Bulldogs.

 

Swimming and Diving –  Over the weekend, the team wrapped up the regular season at home in a dual meet against Aurora and Nordonia squads. Heading into the post season the men’s team finishes with an overall record of 5-6, and the girls of 9-2. 

 

Indoor Track – The team will travel this Thursday to Spire Institute to compete at their last regular season meet. After Thursday the team will compete in the All Star meet and the state meet later in the year.
