Revere Athletic Director Don Seeker will retire at the conclusion of the 2025-2026 school year. Over the last five years of his life, Don Seeker has worked within the Revere school district alongside students, trainers and coaches alike. As a former athlete and coach himself, Seeker knew he wanted to focus on giving back to the very athletic community that shaped him.
“I attended Miami [University] on a baseball scholarship from 1979 [to] 1981. . . . I typically work most with the student athletes, coaches and trainers, . . . [and] all I really wanted to do in my career was to give back to the student athletes and coaches with love and support,” Seeker said.
Seeker graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Health and Physical Education, and he then went on to Ashland University for a degree in Educational Administration later. Seeker used these degrees at various different districts throughout his professional career before making his final stop at Revere as the district’s Athletic Director. Throughout his career here at Revere, one memory in particular stands out to Seeker: beating Copley.
“If I had to name one [key memory], it would be the first football victory over archrival Copley and how the entire student section, cheerleaders and football team stormed the field in celebration,” Seeker said.
Before Seeker stepped out the door for the final time, the marching band put on a final performance for the retiring athletic director.
“I’ll never forget how the marching band led by [the marching band director] Mr. Chiera [came] down outside my office window last week and play[ed] the Revere fight song for me as a farewell. Priceless,” Seeker said.
After retirement, Seeker said he hopes to spend more time with his family and especially his wife. Though he plans to come visit Revere and watch its sports programs play in the future, he stated he is looking forward to the freedom retirement can bring him.
Looking back on his career, Seeker wanted to make one point known: “I will always be a Minuteman!”
