The Revere men’s basketball team returns with six seniors and looks to its strong leaders to win the district title.

Going into his thirteenth year coaching, former two-time Suburban League Coach of the Year Dean Rahas talked about the team’s potential going into this season.

“There is potential to have a good season, but it all depends on hard work how we come together and if we are going to be focused each and every day for practice and games,” Rahas said.

Senior point guard Shane O’Brien mentioned what is required to play on the Varsity team.

“Players have to show all around skill, aggressiveness and proficiency in understanding,” O’Brien said.

O’Brien also elaborated on what a typical practice entails.

“A typical varsity practice entails practicing shooting and ball handling, and also competing against each other in offensive and defensive drills,” O’Brien said.

Senior center Max Tisdale, mentioned the team’s goals for the season.

“We want to be the Suburban League Champs as well as the District Champions,” Tisdale said.

The team has six seniors, Shane O’Brien, Aristotle Kayafas, Zach Lalkowski, Seth Lewis, Dezmond Rozek and Max Tisdale. The juniors include Mike Hill, Teddy Hughes, Lance Milovancev and Nate Predojev. Freshman Pete Nance rounds out the varsity squad.

The boys will play at the Hudson Holiday Tournament on December 29th and 30th.
