Spring sports update: Week of May 9th

Baseball – On Tuesday, the team stayed home to face Kent Roosevelt, and lost 7-0. The team will play two more games this week with an away game against Aurora on Thursday, and Medina at home on Saturday. As the season wraps up the team sits at 8-13 with a 4-9 record in the Suburban League.

 

Softball –  The team traveled to Aurora on Monday to face the Greenmen in a game they lost 14-2. The team will travel to Kent Roosevelt on Wednesday in their last conference game of the season. Thursday will see the teams last game of the regular season with a home game against Firestone. 

 

Men’s Lacrosse – On Monday the men’s lacrosse team stayed home against Theodore Roosevelt High school, and won 16-4. Braylon Li earned player of the game award during the match. The team will stay home against Mentor High School on 5/10.  

 

Men’s Tennis – The team traveled to the Suburban League Tournament on Saturday, and won the American Division with a score of 38 points. Senior Merit Wagstaff placed second in first singles, Sam Lazbin remained undefeated and became a Suburban League Champion at first singles, Colin McDonald also remained undefeated at third singles, Dan Choi and Akshay Elango won the league at first doubles.

 

Track and Field – Last weekend the team traveled to Norwayne to compete in the Dwight Schar Invitational. The boys team left with a first place finish and the girls took home a runner up trophy. On Monday the team began competing in the Suburban League Championship and has the second half of the meet today. 

 

Women’s Lacrosse – On Monday the team traveled to Theodore Roosevelt High school, and won 17-3. The team will stay home against Brunswick High School on Thursday during their senior night.
