Men’s Basketball – Over the weekend, the team traveled to Kent Roosevelt to face off against the Roughriders, and won 70-28. The victory over Kent secured the team as 2023 Suburban League American Conference Champions, the program’s first title since 2020. The team wraps up the regular season this week with a non-conference game against a 10-10 Manchester squad on Tuesday, and a conference game facing a 4-17 Aurora team on Friday. 

 

Women’s Basketball – The team played its first playoff game on Sunday, and won 55-31. They advance to play North Olmstead in the next round of the playoff.

 

Wrestling –  The team faced a full slate over the weekend. On Thursday, the team faced a Padua team at home, and won 52-27. Wins came from Sal Bonacuse, Austin Ogle, Aidan Jones, Colin Butler, Colin Jocek, and Nate Steiger. The team then traveled to Walsh Jesuit on Friday to compete in a dual match against Tallmadge and Highland squads. While the team lost to Highland 51-24, they turned the loss into a decisive  victory against Tallmadge, 55-9. The team will wrap up the season in a Senior Night bout against Hudson on Friday.  

   

Swimming and Diving –   Over the weekend the men’s and girls swim team ended their season  traveling to Akron for sectionals. Swimmers Brody Bard , Weyland Franklin, Tate Johnson and Peter Shockey qualified for districts on the men’s team. On the girls team swimmers Julia Grandon, Emery Banks, Abby DiSalvo and Kayla Smith qualified to districts. The men’s team will compete at districts on February 17. The girls team will compete on February 18 at 12:00 A.M.

 

Indoor Track – The team will travel to Spire Institute on Friday to compete in the All Star Meet. All qualifiers will advance to the state meet in two weeks to finish out their season.
