RHS Notebook: Week of October 1, 2021

Minuteman Time has restarted for the first time since before COVID-19. Students are to select their room assignments, and sessions will meet for 24 minutes. There will be 12 sessions of Minuteman Time this school year. The next MMT session will take place on Wednesday, October 20. 

 

The Homecoming football game, where the Homecoming king and queen will be crowned, will take place on Friday, October 1 at the home against Highland. The Homecoming dance will take place on Saturday, October 2. Tickets are currently on sale for $30 and will cost $40 at the door. 

 

RHS is once again including PLC time, or Professional Learning Community time, in the monthly schedule. PLC times allow for teacher conferences to take place until 8:30 and delay the start of school to 8:34. The next PLC time will take place on Wednesday, October 6. 

 

RHS will be hosting a spirit week for the week of October 4. The categories are as follows:

  • Monday: Browns Day
  • Tuesday: Revere Spirit Wear
  • Wednesday: Beat Copley Shirts
  • Thursday: Class Colors 
    • Freshman: Red
    • Sophomores: Blue
    • Juniors: White
    • Seniors: Black
  • (No School Friday)

 

The Senior Sunrise will take place on Wednesday, October 6 from 6:30 to 7:30 am in the main parking lot. A senior class meeting will follow, occurring from 7:30 to 8:30 am in the auditorium. 

 

Nnemdi Amanambu, Samuel Bockstoce, Jackson Campbell, Sanchita Chandran, Rohit Dasanoor, Drake Du, and Jonathon Valentine were named National Merit Semifinalists. To qualify, semifinalists must have an outstanding academic record throughout high school, be endorsed and recommended by a high school official, write an essay and earn an SAT score that confirms the student’s earlier performance on the qualifying test.
