Revere senior class prepares for Prom celebration

As the end of the school year approached, the senior Class Council prepared for the annual prom night celebration.

Senior Class Council secretary Sierra Land explained that the night would start out with Promenade, which began at 5:30 pm. During this hour before the dance, the couples were announced; and they got to walk across the auditorium stage in front of their friends and family.

Senior Class Council vice president Dana McKinney described the theme and location of this year’s prom.

“This year the Prom is at Todaro’s Party Center and the theme is Paris [A Night in the City of Lights], last years’ prom was at Quaker Square,” McKinney said.

Senior Class Council president Drew Espinal explained that the tickets cost $55 per person until April 29; after that date tickets cost an additional $25. These ticket purchases went towards a full meal, a DJ, and the hiring of a professional group for decorations and entertainment. Espinal talked about the group that Class Council chose for the decorations and added entertainment.

“My class officers and I …worked with The Zone Entertainment to pick out decorations,” Espinal said.

Espinal also expressed that the Class Council’s excitement about Zone Entertainment providing them with a cannon that shoots money.
Senior Class Council adviser Elizabeth Long explained how Prom is special compared to other dances throughout high school.

“Revere’s senior Prom is an opportunity for the senior class to come together to celebrate at the end of their high school career,” Long said.

Prom took place on May 14th from 7-11 pm and a meal was served at the beginning of the dance. After Prom took place at Riviera Lanes starting at 11:30 pm and featured games of bowling for interested students.
