RHS Notebook: Week of October 25, 2022

RHS+Notebook%3A+Week+of+October+25%2C+2022

Teen Institute is hosting their annual Red Ribbon Week the week of October 24. The spirit days are as follows:

    Monday (10/24): Stuffed Animal Day

    Tuesday (10/25): Twin Day

    Wednesday (10/26): Red Out

Thursday (10/27): Halloween Costume Dress Up*

*Please read the following reminder from the RHS Administration about Halloween costumes:

1) Masks/hoods that completely cover the face are not permitted. Hats, wigs, and simple make-up are fine.

2) Please leave all costume extras/props at home. It should go without saying, but this includes any toy weapon/contraband-inspired item.

3) Think safety first and fashion second. The students will have to be in these costumes all day. Overheating, tripping hazards, and bathroom accessibility need to be considered. Students are expected to participate in their classes.

4) The Yearbook class will host a costume contest. Students who want to participate in the contest must have their pictures taken before school.

5) Be mindful of the dress code and our code of conduct. Just because we are pretending to be someone else does not mean we lower our standards.

6) Most importantly, and due to increased interest generated by a Netflix series, we will not allow any costume that glorifies or parodies any individual who has done unspeakable harm to others.

These rules and guidelines apply to all school-sponsored events, including spirit days and participation in our student sections.
