High school students initiate Republican-based club

A new Young Republicans Club has been working on recruiting new members and discussing current political topics in their meetings.

Freshman Tyler Ankrom is the founder of the Young Republicans Club. Ankrom commented on why he decided to form the new club.

“[I wanted] to help bring together high school students who are Republicans,” Ankrom said.

Ankrom also sets up what the club will do that week for the upcoming meeting. Ankrom shared what the club does at the meetings.

“I normally make a Kahoot quiz and [we] play it. Then [we] have a guest speaker, and every other meeting [we] eat food after,” Ankrom said.

Junior Jake Kahoe is also a member of the Young Republicans Club. He shared what he enjoys most about being a part of the club.

“I like how all the students have the same political views as [me]. It makes it easier for discussions and lets [me] learn more about the topics that are happening in our country,” Kahoe said.

The Young Republicans meet every other Wednesday.
