Men’s golf team advances to regional playoffs

The Revere High School mens’ golf team worked hard on their new home course in an attempt to earn a successful season.

The seniors for the 2015 season consist of Bobby House and Lance Milovancev.

The team’s new home course is the Fairlawn Country Club. To prepare for the upcoming season, the team held optional practices over the summer.

Milovancev commented on what a normal practice usually consists of.

“[We] play 9 holes or spend an entire day chipping, putting, or on the range,” Milovancev said.

Milovancev explained they practice in order to prepare for games and sharpen their skills.

House discussed the team’s new home course.

“Our new home course is Fairlawn Country Club… it is much closer than our old course was,” House said.

This helps the team because they can go and practice more without having to drive very far.

Milovancev expressed his own personal goals for this season.

“[I want] to make it to states and get first team all Suburban League again,” Milovancev said.

Green discussed valuable team members the team lost last year.

“The team lost two valuable seniors last year, Dan Pavlich and Mason Whitlam.” Green said

Green discussed how Pavlich and Whitlam were very good players and could be the difference in a win or a loss. they were also leaders on the team and with their experience would make everyone else play better.

House’s favorite part about playing golf is the challenging shots that he might have to make, and how when you hit a good shot, it makes all the time you’ve put into practicing worth it.

The team finished wtih a record of 7-4.

The team participated in the District Tournament on October 14, where they achieved a combined score of 328.
