The girls’ basketball team started its season with one win and one loss. the team currently has a Suburban League record of 2-2. This year’s seniors include Julie Garcia and Natalie Lewis. Juniors Camryn Brown and Caitlin Vari round out the team captain list. Their next game will take place on December 23 at Jackson.

The boys’ basketball team opened its season with a tough home loss to Parma High school. This year’s seniors include Aristotle Kayafas, Zach Lalkowski, Seth Lewis, Shane O’Brien, Dezmond Rozek, and Max Tisdale. The juniors include Mike Hill, Teddy Hughes, Lance Milovancev and Nate Predojev. Freshman Pete Nance rounds olut the varsity squad. The boys will play at the Hudson Holiday Tournament on December 29th and 30th.

The varsity wrestling team opened its 2014-15 varsity season on Saturday December 6th with a second place team finish at the Beachwood Bison Kickoff Classic. Winning individual championships for the Minutemen were seniors Zeck Lehman, Dustin Shaffer and Jack Smith. Freshman Stefan Farian, Junior Jake Nye, and Sophomore Nick Kelly each earned runner-up status. Additionally Zeck Lehman was voted ‘Most Outstanding Wrestler’ of the entire tournament. The team took first place in the Cuyahoga Heights Redskins Invitational on December 13th. On January 3rd the team will participate in the Hudson Duals.

The swim team’s first meet of the season took place Dec. 10th against Wadsworth. The swimmers owned the night in the water, even though Wadsworth had twice as many swimmers. The score does not reflect the effort or times the swimmers achieved last night. The girls team lost 100-70, and the boys team lost 109-58. The girls’ swimmer of the meet was Joci Scott, and the boys’ swimmer of the meet was Alec Johnson.The team also took on Nordonia on December 12. On December 20 the swim team will participate in the Canton City Schools Christmas Invite Tournament.
