Spring Sports Update
The boys’ baseball team’s current record is 1-3. This year’s captains are seniors Hunter Krauth and Cory Tessmer and junior Sam Sustersic. The team hopes to win Districts and to place first in the Suburban League. The seniors include Nolan Dyko, Krauth, Ben Sass, Drew Lewis, Chase Somple and Tessmer.
The boys’ track and field team’s current record is 1-1. The seniors include Dylan Geig, Erik Godard, Ahmad Khatib, Mike Kovacevich, Ryan Gross, Jackson Leventhal, Everett McGregor, Luke Mierzejewski, Jordan Moul, Adam Pantich, Andrew Robinson and Brandon Taylor. Coach David Parry mentioned that the team already has had several exceptional performances. He stated that the seniors have demonstrated “amazing” ability and the freshman class is one of the best he has ever seen. Overall, Parry said that the main goal is to keep getting faster and stronger.
The boys’ tennis team is currently 3-1. This season they hope to earn first place in the Suburban League and return to the State Tournament. The players prepared for the season on their own by attending indoor matches and practices. The seniors on the team include Kyle Gersman, Noah Hendrickson and Zach Stile.
The girls’ softball team is 2-2 in the league and 4-2 overall. This year’s seniors include Nicole Heckman, Lauren Weidinger, Marissa Staats, Kaylyn Roose and Hailee Zendlo.
The girls’ track team has a current record of 1-1.Coach Terry Cistone noted senior Marissa Harbath, junior Stephanie Bierman and freshmen Audrey Harding and Alexa Lagenfeld have demonstrated exceptional ability so far. Junior Natalie Pasicnyk broke the school two mile record with a time of 11:37. The team hopes to win at least three or four meets this season, allowing multiple team members to attend Regionals and the State Competiton. This year’s seniors include Danielle Baker, Jenny Glowe, Harbath and Andrea Johnson.
The boys’ lacrosse team has a current record of 0-0 due to weather conditions. The seniors consist of Dalton Bassak, Christianos Burlotos, Jeff Carter, Jake Essy, Joe Pearl, Evan Pinney, Carl Roman, Matt Sawka, Dillon Smith, David Suchy, Josh Wiseman and Ian Valentik.
The girls’ lacrosse holds a current record of 1-1-1. The team consists of seniors Abby Anacki, Quincy Bolender, Kasey Evans, Maddie Holvey, Megan Mortimer, Niki Panayiotou, Shelley Simko and Katie Sternasty.
