Revere administration has created a new account on Instagram to help connect and build relationships with their students.
Over the summer, Tiffany George became assistant principal at Revere High School. One of her first initiatives is to create the Revere High School Instagram account.
”One of my goals in my time here, especially being new to this building and this team, is to build relationships with people and get to know people, and one of the main ways of doing that is networking and connecting, so an easy way to do that is through social media,” George said.
For many high schools social media accounts can be a way to quickly spread information or advertise events. George describes what she posts on the page.
“It’s kind of a fluid page right now. It’s a lot of me doing shout-outs of different events and things that I am a part of,” George said.
Although George made the account recently, Principal Doug Faris thinks the account will have a good endgame.
“She’s trying to hit all of it to really capture what a year at Revere High School looks like,” Farris said.
The account is only a few months old, yet it has many followers. Faris describes how students have responded to the account.
“She’s got almost 300 kids [Following] already. And they really get excited when they see pictures of themselves on Instagram. So she’s getting a lot of people that are reposting it or liking it,” Faris said.
With George being new to Revere, the newly made Instagram account was a way for her to connect with students. George hopes that she can build relationships with the whole student body.
