Spring sports update: week of April 24th

Baseball – On Saturday, the team stayed home to face Chardon in a non-conference game and lost 2-1. The team will face three opponents this week with games against Tallmadge, Barberton, Padua, and Field with hopes of improving on a 4-7 record. 

 

Softball – On Thursday, the team traveled to Barbeton where they defeated the Magics 6-2. A game against Twinsburg was canceled on Saturday due to weather. This week the team will face off against Highland twice, with games on Monday and Thursday. The team will battle Strongsville on Tuesday, and rival Copley on Wednesday. 

 

Men’s Lacrosse –  On Thursday, the team traveled to their rival Copley where they lost a close match 11-12. The team will stay home where they will face off against Hudson High School  on Tuesday. 

 

Men’s Tennis –  On Thursday, the team faced off against Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy, and won 3-2. Wins came from Merit Wagstaff with a score of 6-2, Sam Lazbin by 6-1, and Daniel Choi by 6-3. The team will travel to Aurora on Monday to face the Greenmen.

 

Track and Field – On Wednesday the team traveled to Copley to compete against their rivals. The girls team won 90-46 with first place finishes from Maggie Zurn in the discus, Josie Schiesswohl in long jump, Tessa Milicia in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles, Aleni Bender in the 400m, Megan Diulus in the 800m, and the relay teams in the 4x800m, 4x200m and 4x400m. The boys team also walked away with an impressive win against Copley. The team will face Nordonia on Wednesday and travel to Tallmadge for an invitational on Friday. 

 

Women’s Lacrosse – On Saturday the team stayed home to face off against Chardon HighSchool where they won 8-3. The team will travel to Hudson High School on Tuesday.
