Speaker Grace Boyle presents.

Jack Morris, Ryan Cunnigham and Jeffrey Boyle are the leaders of the Investing Club, which meets once every month after school. Although the Investing Club does not generate its own profits, the leaders provide fun, informative lessons about stock market, finance, accounting and much more. Boyle, Cunningham and Morris work together to provide well organized presentations and arrange guest speakers whose occupations lie in the finance field. However, these events could not have been accomplished without Boyle, Cunningham and Morris’s teamwork. Each leader helps arrange these meetings by dividing and conquering tasks. Cunningham has been a part of the Investing Club for three years and was a member when the club was first established.

As one of the leaders in the Investing Club, Cunningham is currently a senior at Revere High School and explained his main tasks to help manage the club.

“I run our social media account and also help set up fundraisers,” Cunningham said.

Cunningham posts about the club on social media to bring attention and increase the population of the club.

“I promote our meetings, so last time, we had a big turnout,” Cunningham said.

Along with managing and maintaining the social media and promotion aspects of the club, Cunningham explained the types of fundraisers the Investing Club arranges and how it surpassed their expectations of total meals donated towards a food drive.

“We just did a holiday food drive, and we’re leaning towards three hundred meals donated,” Cunningham said.

During the first meeting this year, the Investing Club brought in a finance guest speaker to teach the students about the club.

“Grace Boyle, Jeffrey Boyle’s sister, came in to talk about financial career paths to help you plan out your future,”Cunningham said.

The President Jeffrey Boyle oversees the Investing club. Boyle has been in the Investing Club for three years, having joined the club in his sophomore year.

Boyle explained his role as president and how it benefits the club.

“I set up meetings and organize them,” Boyle said.

As one of the main leaders, Boyle explained what the sense of the Investing Club brings.

“It kind of brings us together,” said Boyle.

Additionally, Boyle also explained about their guest speakers that they invite to their club meetings.

“We have guest speakers that are experienced and knowledgeable, and they can guide us to different paths so we can profit the most,” Boyle said.

In addition, Boyle described that the Investing Club can help out in the future. Boyle explained that the Investing Club is open for everyone.

“No matter who you are, we’d love to have you, and everyone can invest no matter how much money you have or if you do not know a lot about it.”

Senior Jack Morris is the co-vice president of the Investing Club. Morris explained how his role as co-vice president impacted the club.

“I help set up meetings and help with the content that we are going to cover [in the] meetings,” Morris said.

Morris described how the Investing Club helps others from his point of view.

“It gives them a chance to kind of understand more about [investing] and really determine whether that’s the path you want to take with your career in your life,” Morris said.

Through running, managing and investing time into the Investing Club, Boyle, Cunningham and Morris work together to bring the art of investing to Revere High School. Although it might be too early for students to decide whether or not to follow an economic based career path, participating in the Investing Club allows students to explore different areas of life and could heavily influence their college choices.
