The wrestling team finished in third place at the Beachwood Bison Kickoff Classic and in seventh place at the Cuyahoga Heights Invitational Tournament. Senior Ahmad Khatib is currently 10-0, winning championships at both of the tournaments. Junior Zeck Lehman is 9-1, finishing in second place at Beachwood and in first place at Cuyahoga Heights. The team’s next dual meet is on Saturday, December 21 at Canfield High School.

The girls’ swim team is currently 1-0 and the boys’ swim team is 0-1. The team has faster send-offs and is swimming more yardage. The new swimmers have greatly improved, and everyone is proving their dedication by swimming a lot more. The team’s next meet is January 8 at Copley High School.

The boys’ basketball team is 1-3 overall this season. Coach Rahas said the team is looking forward to playing with a full team after coping with several injuries. The seniors on the team are Dylan Seikel, Dylan Geig and Jordan Holtkamp. The team’s next game is Friday, December 20 versus Green.

The girls’ basketball team is currently 5-1 and 3-0 in the league. Coach Verde says the team is off to a very good start. Even though the team lost their first game by one basket, they have won all of their other contests. Sophomore Caitlin Vari was named in the Akron Beacon Journal’s Spotlight Athletes for the week of December 1 through December 7. The team has an upcoming game against Wadsworth where they are asking for all students to show up and white out Wadsworth. The Wadsworth game is January 11 starting at 2:30pm. The team will participate at the Twinsburg Showcase at Mayfield High School on December 22.
