Senior Class Council hosts second annual Food Truck Friday fundraiser

The Senior Class Council hosted their second annual Food Truck Friday at Revere High School before the Revere versus Eastlake North football game.

Senior class council president Andrew Boyazis described the event.

“Food Truck Friday was a class council event that we started last year. We had six food trucks come to the home opening football game for fans to eat prior to the game,” Boyazis said.

Students ran the event entirely. Senior class council adviser Jenna Repp allowed the students to do most of the work.

“The senior class officers are highly motivated and organized and get things done on their own.,” Repp said.

Boyazis spoke about some of the obstacles Class Council faced.

“Contacting all the trucks, getting parking lot space reserved, clearing event with boosters and band, getting tables and chairs and having class council members bring in pop, water, and coolers [were some of the hardest parts],” Boyazis said.

The Council considered this event a success.

“Not only was this fundraiser the most profit of any we have done as a class, I think it could become a tradition at Revere for years to come,” Boyazis said.

Repp also states her future thoughts for the program.

“I would recommend it as a fundraiser to next year’s senior class. In one night they made $710,” Repp said.

Director of Operations for Barrio, Jake Hawley has attended Food Truck Friday the past two years.

“It was a great partnership that allowed both us and the class council to profit,” Hawley said.

Boyazis said that they have no further fundraising plans and that the group will spend the rest of the year planning their prom. He hopes that another class will take over the tradition next year.
