Hillcrest and Bath Staff Advice

The Revere Lantern staff asked former teachers of the graduating class for advice concerning college, career goals and life after graduation. The response was overwhelming. Teachers include educators at both Bath Elementary and Hillcrest. The compiled responses are listed below.

Mrs. Kahoe (5th Grade)

“Even when things aren’t working out, when you have time, you will realize that they will work out exactly as they should have.”

Mrs. Silvidi (Kindergarten)

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you handle it.”

Mr. Faust (5th Grade)

“If you don’t love what you are going to do . . . don’t do it. I started in the business world, and I hated it. For the last twenty years I have been a school teacher, and I love every day.”

Mr. Schauer (3rd Grade)

“Find what absolutely thrills you on the inside.”

Mrs. Pearcy (Kindergarten)

“Appreciate your family. They love you and they have your best interests at heart.”

Mrs. Fling (4th Grade)

“Don’t forget about where you want to end up. Stay focused on the end goal. And don’t worry about having a bad day or a bad class. Just focus on the end goal.”

Mrs. Baker (3rd Grade)

“I have come to believe that real power lies in truly knowing yourself, your heart, your mind [and] your soul. This is an ever challenging and often difficult task. But only that knowledge allows you to then search for your most true and genuine place in the world.”

Mrs. Catanese (2nd Grade)

“Dream big, work hard and have the courage to follow your heart.”
